Guiding EBS Forward: Meet the New Supervisory Board

Starting in September 2025, a new Supervisory Board began its work at Estonian Business School SA, coinciding with the start of a rector professor Meelis Kitsing’s new term. The role of the Supervisory Board is to support EBS’s strategic development, provide guidance, and give feedback to the Foundation's Management Board in shaping important directions and plans.
The members of the Board have been selected for their international experience, high-level leadership skills, and strong academic or institutional backgrounds:

Dr. Markus Wartiovaara – Professor of Practice at Hanken School of Economics (Finland), a renowned expert in entrepreneurship and well-being, bringing a unique combined academic and practical perspective to the board. He was one of Finland’s first internet entrepreneurs, partner at Spray Finland in 1996, which was later sold to Razorfish and listed on Nasdaq. Markus is the Director of Hanken Business Lab, and leads select venture capital, innovation and entrepreneurial well-being research projects at Hanken. He is also actively involved in the boards of various family businesses and foundations including Captum Group and Rotator Oy. 

Madis Müller – President of the Bank of Estonia and a member of the European Central Bank’s Governing Council. His expertise in finance and macroeconomics enhances EBS’s economic focus and links it with public sector governance. He is an EBS alumnus and holds a master’s degree in finance from George Washington University, as well as CFA and FRM certifications.

Dr. Jordi Diaz – Dean and Director General of EADA Business School Barcelona since 2020, with over 20 years of experience in international business education. He holds a Doctorate from École des Paris Tech and has completed executive programmes at Harvard Business School. He has led major innovation and sustainability initiatives, expanded global partnerships, and is active in international education networks such as EFMD. His experience helps EBS maintain and enhance its competitiveness as a globally relevant business school. 

Dr. Mart Noorma – He holds a PhD in technology and has led various innovation and digital transformation projects, including as R&D Director at Milrem Robotics and as a professor of space technology at the University of Tartu. Mart has been actively involved in NATO, EU, and international cooperation projects focused on innovation and emerging technologies. He was the Director of the NATO Cooperative Cyber Defence Centre of Excellence (CCDCOE) from 2022 until August 2025.
