How to give back?

At the beginning of the new year, it's fitting to talk about a new idea that we've been working on here at EBS for some time. Namely, the existence of the unified strong community of EBS has perhaps logically led us to the idea that together we can achieve more in society as well. This means gratitude for what we have and sharing with those who may have the idea but lack the means of implementation. We have created the EBS Mõjufond MTÜ, under which we aim to support three main areas related to EBS: educational innovation, collaboration between the private and public sectors, and new school infrastructure.
This is our initial idea. And we are working hard on this idea, as there are still details to be finalized. At the end of last year, we gathered experts in the field of donations - Meelis Kubits (leader of the Kultuuripartnerluse SA), Kristi Ramsden (UK Embassy in Estonia), Martin Villig (board member of the Good Deed Foundation and one of the initiators of the Good Deed Education Fund, EBS alumnus), Pirkko Valge (CEO of the Good Deed Foundation, EBS alumna), and Heidi Solba (leader and initiator of World Cleanup, EBS alumna) - with whom we discussed with other alumni and the school's management about what Estonian donation culture is like and how we could proceed with our idea at EBS. The event took place at the Da Vinci Ristorante & Cafeteria, Solaris owned by our alumnus Rain Uusküla.
As our focus is broadly on education with its various facets, there are still many items to work on. But the general idea is in place. We hope that the coming year will bring many more details to this topic so that we can start implementing our ideas effectively.
Here is a call to action for all of you - if you, as an EBS alumni, have ideas that our Impact Fund should focus on or what you would like to pass on to younger generations, all thoughts and suggestions are very welcome. Let us know if you wish to participate in brainstorming sessions on this topic. Register yourself here.
You can read more about the Impact Fund on our website. Please note that we are constantly updating the content as our ideas crystallize. If we join forces, we will undoubtedly achieve something unprecedented and prove that 1 + 1 > 2!
