The alumni survey prompted changes in the curricula

In May of this year, Norstat Estonia conducted an alumni survey among you, which this time proved to be a very necessary input for improving EBS’s curricula. This academic year already began with a significant change in the MBA curriculum, where we updated the content of marketing courses and involved external partners to introduce new digital marketing trends. Based on your feedback, we plan to further develop the curricula. Thus, in 2025, an updated Executive MBA program and two innovative MBA specializations focusing on digital product management and startup entrepreneurship will be launched.

We are very pleased to note that EBS alumni are hardworking and entrepreneurial. Most of you were already working during your studies. We are proud of your contribution to the Estonian business landscape, where you have created new companies and jobs (40% of graduates have founded their own company, and a third of you are currently working in your own company). Half of you highly value the contribution of EBS education to your success in the job market. Positive keywords you mentioned include modern and practical education, contacts and networks, good lecturers, and a personal approach. This is why we consider your feedback, along with constructive comments, very valuable for modifying and developing our curricula.

The study also revealed that alumni’s income and net worth grow over time. Just over half of the respondents (52%) have a monthly net income of up to 4000 euros, and the same number (53%) estimate their net worth (assets minus liabilities) to be up to half a million euros. Many of you consider giving back to society important, and thus 61% of the respondents have contributed to charity in recent years.

Since we see that contributing to society and charity is important to you, we have made promoting the donation culture within our community one of the future directions for EBS and its alumni. We aim to find ways to jointly address societal issues, support future makers, or simply do good. We have already established the EBS Impact Fund for this purpose, but the detailed concept is still being developed. We will keep you updated on its progress and provide more details in the future.

The aim of the Norstat Estonia survey was to gather feedback on the professional careers and the economic well-being of EBS alumni, the contribution of EBS to this, and the extent to which the knowledge acquired at EBS aligns with market demands. A total of 472 EBS alumni responded to the survey.

A big thank you to all the alumni who participated in the survey and provided us with their feedback. We care about this very much and hope to continue collaborating in this way in the future. 😊
